Araron:

I am not sure if you have seen this indice, the S&P Healthcare indice? http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ghg3lifIV2Y/TkkvAxOY7UI/AAAAAAAAArM/2M0WyTXB08E/s1600/medicaresky2.jpg

If you look at it, healthcare costs have been on a steady climb until 2010 and then we observe a decrease dramatically with Medicare leading the way. I do not remember U of M hospital and my doctor cutting me any slack when I had left lung pneumonia. The prices remain the same. I write some more on this here: http://www.angrybearblog.com/2011/08/medicare-sky-is-falling.html

The decrease is due to doctors and hospitals preparing for the full inplementation of the ACA in 2014, They are cutting costs. I guess I am not sure which years the naysayers are targeting. Here is June 2012: . I wish we could capture August as all the refunds went out then.
